  1. Safely transport patients to and from various areas within the hospital, including but not limited to, diagnostic testing, surgery, and discharge.
  2. Assist in transferring patients to and from beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs.
  3. Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the transport process.
  4. Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, their families, and hospital staff.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including wheelchairs and stretchers.
  6. Follow hospital policies and procedures, including infection control and privacy guidelines.
  7. Be knowledgeable about hospital layout and directions to help patients navigate the facility.
  8. Monitor and report any concerns or issues with patient transport to appropriate staff members.
  9. Participate in training and education programs to stay updated on hospital procedures and protocols.
  10. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors, going above and beyond to meet their needs.
  11. Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient patient flow.
  12. Adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines to protect patient information.
  13. Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
  14. Willingness to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
  15. Handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
  16. Assist with other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Patient Escort Associate At Massachusetts General Hospital Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent To Ensure They Have A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: The Ability To Perform Basic Life Support Techniques Is Essential For A Patient Escort Associate, As They May Need To Assist Patients In Emergency Situations.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Patient Escort Associates Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Interact With Patients, Families, And Hospital Staff In A Professional And Compassionate Manner.

  • Physical Stamina And Strength: This Role Requires Physical Activity Such As Pushing Wheelchairs And Transporting Patients, So Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Stand For Extended Periods.

  • Prior Healthcare Experience: While Not Always Required, Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting Can Be Beneficial For A Patient Escort Associate. This Experience Can Include Working As A Patient Transporter, Medical Assistant, Or Other Related Roles.
