  1. Manage the collection, storage, and distribution of tissue samples for various research studies.
  2. Ensure that all tissue samples are properly labeled, stored, and documented according to established protocols.
  3. Maintain accurate records of all tissue samples and their corresponding research projects.
  4. Coordinate with researchers and other departments to facilitate the transfer of tissue samples and data.
  5. Develop and implement standard operating procedures for the tissue bank, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  6. Train and supervise lab assistants and other staff involved in tissue sample collection and processing.
  7. Collaborate with the research team to identify tissue sample needs and assist in study design.
  8. Monitor inventory levels and order necessary supplies for the tissue bank.
  9. Conduct quality control checks to ensure the integrity and suitability of tissue samples for research.
  10. Communicate with patients and their families to obtain informed consent for tissue sample donation.
  11. Keep up-to-date with the latest research developments in tissue banking and recommend improvements to current processes.
  12. Participate in research meetings and present updates on the tissue bank operations.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  14. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the research director or supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Knowledge Of Tissue Banking Regulations And Guidelines: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Thorough Understanding Of Regulatory Requirements For Tissue Banking, Including Fda Regulations, Hipaa, And Irb Protocols.

  • Experience With Tissue Procurement And Processing: The Research Coordinator Should Have Experience In Collecting And Processing Human Tissue Samples, Including Knowledge Of Proper Handling, Labeling, And Storage Procedures.

  • Proficiency In Data Management And Analysis: The Role Requires Proficiency In Data Management And Analysis, Including The Ability To Maintain Accurate And Organized Records And Analyze Data To Support Research Projects.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Candidate Should Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Researchers, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals, As Well As Patients And Their Families.

  • Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field: A Bachelor's Degree In Biology, Biochemistry, Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For This Position. A Master's Degree In A Related Field Is Preferred.
