Fiber Optic Cable Splicer Trainee

Perform light splicing of fiber optic cables, both fusion and mechanical. Place pressurized and non-pressurized enclosures. Learn to install and dress fiber optic cables, both vertically and horizontally. Learn to test and troubleshoot fiber utilizing an OTDR. Maintain fiber asset inventory and splicing records. Perform other duties as required and/or assigned. The Fiber Optic Cable Splicer Trainee is a skilled field position in the installation and repair of fiber optic cable and is responsible for learning and performing minor cable splicing functions and supporting the Fiber Optic Cable Splicer. This position supports the Splicing team and works with personnel within the department.
