Job Description

MUSC Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Adult Audiologist to join our team.   1. Conduct comprehensive audiological assessments for adult patients, including pure tone and speech audiometry, immittance testing, and otoacoustic emissions.
  2. Develop individualized treatment plans for patients based on assessment results, medical history, and patient goals.
  3. Utilize the latest technology and techniques in audiology to provide the highest level of care to patients.
  4. Educate patients and their families on hearing loss, treatment options, and strategies for managing communication difficulties.
  5. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation in accordance with department and facility policies.
  7. Continuously monitor and evaluate patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  8. Stay current with advancements and changes in the field of audiology through continuing education and professional development.
  9. Demonstrate excellent communication skills when interacting with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
  10. Foster a compassionate and supportive environment for patients and their families, while also maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment for colleagues.
  11. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
  12. Participate in departmental meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to contribute to the overall success of the audiology program.
  13. Serve as a resource and mentor to other audiology team members, including students and new employees.
  14. Maintain ethical standards and adhere to all relevant laws and regulations in the provision of audiology services.

Job Qualifications
  • Doctoral Degree In Audiology: A Minimum Of A Doctor Of Audiology (Au.d.) Degree From An Accredited University Is Required For This Position.

  • State Licensure: The Candidate Must Hold A Current, Active License In Audiology From The State Of South Carolina Or Be Eligible For Licensure In The State.

  • Certificate Of Clinical Competence In Audiology (Ccc-A): The Candidate Must Possess A Valid Ccc-A From The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (Asha).

  • Previous Experience: Preference Will Be Given To Candidates With At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting, Ideally In A Hospital Or Medical Center.

  • Knowledge Of Current Audiology Practices And Technology: The Ideal Candidate Will Have A Strong Understanding Of Current Audiology Practices And Technology, Including Hearing Aids, Cochlear Implants, And Other Assistive Listening Devices. Experience With Pediatric Audiology Is Also Preferred.
