  1. Provide compassionate and empathetic support to patients and families coping with the physical, emotional, and psychological challenges of burn injuries.
  2. Conduct thorough assessments of patients' needs and develop personalized treatment plans to address their specific social, emotional, and psychological needs.
  3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for burn patients.
  4. Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to address patients' mental health and emotional well-being.
  5. Offer crisis intervention and support to patients and families during difficult times.
  6. Educate patients and families about coping strategies and available resources to help them navigate the challenges of burn injuries.
  7. Advocate for patients' rights and needs, both within the healthcare system and in the community.
  8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient care and progress.
  9. Stay informed about current research, best practices, and advancements in the field of burn care and social work.
  10. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and other professional development opportunities.
  11. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with patients and their families.
  12. Serve as a resource and mentor for other social workers and healthcare professionals in the burn center.
  13. Continuously evaluate and assess the effectiveness of interventions and make adjustments as needed.
  14. Collaborate with community organizations and resources to provide additional support and services to patients and families.
  15. Uphold the mission, values, and standards of MUSC Health in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Social Work From An Accredited Program.

  • Licensure As A Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker In The State Of South Carolina.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Burn Center Or Trauma Unit.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of The Psychological And Social Impact Of Burn Injuries On Patients And Their Families.

  • Ability To Provide Evidence-Based Therapy And Counseling To Individuals And Groups, And Collaborate With A Multidisciplinary Team To Develop And Implement Treatment Plans For Burn Patients.
