Chief Accounting Officer

MUSC Health is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to join our team and lead the charge in our accounting department. The ideal candidate will have the qualifications and experience necessary to effectively manage the entire accounting cycle. The CAO is responsible for leading all aspects of accounting, including financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. The CAO must have a thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), an eye for detail, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage the entire accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.

4. Prepare and analyze financial statements and other reports to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
5. Identify areas for cost savings, cost reduction, and increased efficiency.
6. Monitor and analyze financial trends and performance metrics.
7. Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
8. Work closely with auditors to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
9. Liaise with other departments to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
10. Manage and mentor accounting staff to ensure professional development.
