- Develop and implement strategic plans for the dental department in alignment with the overall mission and goals of MUSC Health.
- Oversee the daily operations of the dental department, including managing budgets, resources, and staffing.
- Lead and mentor a team of dental professionals to ensure the highest quality of patient care and customer service.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including patients, staff, physicians, and community partners.
- Collaborate with other departments within MUSC Health to ensure seamless integration and coordination of services.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in dental health to continuously improve and enhance services.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance and outcomes of the dental department, and make recommendations for improvement as needed.
- Manage and allocate resources effectively to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Serve as a liaison between the dental department and other departments within MUSC Health, as well as external organizations, to foster collaboration and partnerships.
- Manage and resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise within the dental department.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work culture that promotes teamwork, open communication, and professional development.
- Represent MUSC Health at professional conferences and events, and participate in community outreach initiatives to promote dental health awareness.
- Ensure compliance with all ethical and legal standards related to patient care and employee relations.
- Continuously seek out new opportunities for growth and improvement within the dental department, and present recommendations to senior leadership.
Extensive Experience In Dental Health: The Executive Director Should Have At Least 10 Years Of Experience In The Dental Health Field, With A Proven Track Record Of Success In Managing And Leading Dental Health Programs. This Includes Experience In Budgeting, Strategic Planning, And Implementing Quality Improvement Initiatives.
Strong Leadership Skills: The Executive Director Must Possess Strong Leadership Skills To Effectively Manage A Team Of Dental Professionals And Administrative Staff. This Includes The Ability To Provide Direction, Motivate Employees, And Foster A Positive And Collaborative Work Environment.
Knowledge Of Regulatory And Compliance Standards: The Executive Director Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Federal And State Regulations Related To Dental Health Services And Be Able To Ensure Compliance With These Standards. This Includes Knowledge Of Hipaa Regulations, Osha Guidelines, And Other Relevant Laws And Regulations.
Financial Management Expertise: The Executive Director Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Financial Management Principles And Be Able To Effectively Manage The Budget And Financial Resources Of The Dental Health Program. This Includes Developing And Implementing Financial Strategies To Ensure The Program's Financial Sustainability.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Executive Director Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Stakeholders, Build Relationships With Community Partners, And Represent The Dental Health Program To External Organizations And Agencies. This Includes The Ability To Communicate Complex Information In A Clear And Concise Manner And To Adapt Communication Styles To Different Audiences.
