
Phlebotomy Technician
At MUSC Health, we are currently looking for a highly qualified and motivated Phlebotomy Technician to join our team. As a Phlebotomy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring our patients receive the highest quality of care. You will be responsible for collecting and preparing lab specimens, maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, and interacting with patients in a professional and compassionate manner.To be successful in this role, you must possess a high school diploma or equivalent as well as a phlebotomy certification from an accredited program. A minimum of one year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred. Responsibilities:
- Collect and prepare lab specimens in accordance with established protocols.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
- Interact with patients in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Follow safety protocols and standards to ensure patient safety at all times.
- Follow established laboratory procedures and protocols.
- Communicate effectively with laboratory staff and physicians.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient data.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to laboratory equipment.
- Monitor laboratory supplies and order replacements as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
