Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Is The Minimum Educational Requirement For A Registered Nurse Position At Musc Health. This Degree Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory, Clinical Skills, And Leadership, Which Are Essential For Working In The Specialized Field Of Neuroendovascular Surgery Prep/Recovery.
Active Rn License: All Registered Nurses At Musc Health Must Possess A Current And Valid License To Practice Nursing In The State Of South Carolina. This License Ensures That The Nurse Has Met The State's Education And Certification Requirements And Is Qualified To Provide Safe And Effective Patient Care.
Certification In Neuroendovascular Surgery: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Hold A Certification In Neuroendovascular Surgery, Such As The Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (Cnrn) Or The Neurovascular Nurse Certification (Nvnc). These Certifications Demonstrate The Nurse's Advanced Knowledge And Skills In Caring For Patients Undergoing Endovascular Procedures.
Prior Experience In Neuroendovascular Surgery: Musc Health Prefers Candidates With At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience In Neuroendovascular Surgery Or A Related Field, Such As Neurointerventional Radiology Or Neurocritical Care. This Experience Allows The Nurse To Have A Strong Understanding Of The Unique Needs And Challenges Of Patients Undergoing These Complex Procedures.
Excellent Communication And Critical Thinking Skills: Working In Neuroendovascular Surgery Prep/Recovery Requires Strong Communication Skills To Effectively Collaborate With A Multidisciplinary Team And Provide Education And Support To Patients And Their Families.
