- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic communications plan that aligns with the organization's mission and goals.
- Oversee all internal and external communication efforts, including media relations, crisis communications, and community outreach.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization, representing MUSC Health to the media, stakeholders, and the public.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to shape and maintain the organization's brand and reputation.
- Lead a team of communications professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key media outlets, industry influencers, and community partners.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage and trends to inform communication strategies and messaging.
- Work closely with marketing and public relations teams to ensure cohesive and consistent messaging across all communications channels.
- Stay up-to-date on industry and healthcare trends to identify opportunities for proactive communication and thought leadership.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on matters related to communications and public relations.
- Plan and manage communication budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
- Uphold and promote the organization's values and culture through all communications efforts.
- Participate in crisis management and emergency response planning, serving as a key member of the crisis communications team.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a role model for ethical and professional behavior in all interactions and communications.
Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In A Senior Level Communications Role, Preferably In The Healthcare Industry.
Strong Understanding Of Communication Strategies And Tactics, Including Digital Media, Public Relations, And Crisis Management.
Proven Track Record Of Developing And Implementing Successful Communication Campaigns That Enhance Brand Reputation And Promote Organizational Objectives.
Excellent Leadership Skills With The Ability To Manage A Team And Collaborate With Cross-Functional Departments.
Advanced Degree In Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Or A Related Field.
