- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and patient needs.
- Implement evidence-based interventions and therapeutic techniques to address speech and language disorders.
- Monitor and document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide integrated and coordinated care for patients.
- Educate patients and their families on speech and language disorders, treatment plans, and strategies for improvement.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required records.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards of practice in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Stay updated on current research and trends in the field of Speech Language Pathology to enhance clinical practice.
- Attend and participate in team meetings, conferences, and professional development opportunities to improve clinical skills and knowledge.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure understanding and collaboration in treatment plans and goals.
- Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to patient care, confidentiality, and professional conduct.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment and ensure compliance with infection control protocols.
- Provide support and guidance to less experienced Speech Language Pathologists and clinical students.
- Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall success of the department and organization.
Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology: The Ideal Candidate For A Speech Language Pathologist Job At Musc Health Should Possess A Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology From An Accredited University.
Asha Certification: Musc Health Requires Speech Language Pathologists To Be Certified By The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (Asha).
