  4. Stay up-to-date with changes in coding guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Clinical Data Coder At Natera Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Including Diseases, Procedures, And Treatments. This Knowledge Is Crucial For Accurately Coding And Classifying Medical Data.

  • Proficient In Icd And Cpt Coding: The Ideal Candidate Should Be Proficient In Using The International Classification Of Diseases (Icd) And Current Procedural Terminology (Cpt) Coding Systems. These Are The Standard Coding Systems Used In Healthcare To Accurately Record And Report Medical Data.

  • Familiarity With Hipaa Regulations: As A Clinical Data Coder, It Is Essential To Have A Strong Understanding Of The Health Insurance Portability And Accountability Act (Hipaa). This Includes Knowledge Of Patient Privacy Laws And Regulations, As Well As Security Measures For Protecting Sensitive Medical Data.

  • Attention To Detail: The Ability To Pay Close Attention To Detail Is Crucial In This Role. A Clinical Data Coder Must Accurately Code And Enter Large Amounts Of Medical Data, And A Single Error Can Have Significant Consequences For Patient Care And Reimbursement.

  • Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: A Clinical Data Coder Should Possess Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills To Accurately Interpret Medical Records And Assign The Appropriate Codes. This Requires The Ability To Think Critically And Identify Patterns, Discrepancies, And Potential Errors In The Data.
