  1. Perform blood draws and collect samples from patients using proper techniques and following all safety protocols.
  2. Accurately label and process collected specimens for genetic testing.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
  4. Provide exceptional care and service to patients, ensuring a comfortable and positive experience during blood draws.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients to explain the testing process and answer any questions or concerns.
  6. Monitor inventory levels and maintain adequate supplies for blood draws.
  7. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations related to phlebotomy.
  8. Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely and accurate delivery of samples to the laboratory.
  9. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all blood draws and patient information.
  10. Continuously stay updated on industry advancements and participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
  11. Assist in the development and implementation of new phlebotomy procedures and protocols.
  12. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  13. Handle and resolve any patient or sample-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
  14. Participate in quality control measures to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: Candidates Must Possess A Valid Certification From An Accredited Phlebotomy Program, Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Phlebotomy Association (Npa).

  • Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience As A Phlebotomist In A Clinical Or Hospital Setting. Previous Experience In A Genetics Or Fertility Clinic Is Highly Preferred.

  • Knowledge Of Phlebotomy Techniques: A Strong Understanding Of Phlebotomy Procedures, Including Venipuncture, Capillary Puncture, And Specimen Handling Is Essential. Candidates Should Also Be Familiar With Standard Safety Protocols And Infection Control Measures.

  • Communication Skills: As A Phlebotomist, Strong Communication Skills Are Crucial. Candidates Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Colleagues, And Healthcare Providers To Ensure Accurate And Timely Specimen Collection.

  • Knowledge Of Chicago Area: Being Familiar With The Chicago Area Is A Plus, As The Job May Require Traveling To Different Locations Within The City. Candidates Should Have A Valid Driver's License And Reliable Transportation.
