At Nelnet, we are looking for an experienced Network Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our Infrastructure & Security team, the Network Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our network as well as providing guidance and assistance to our IT team. The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for technology and the ability to work as part of an effective team.We are looking for someone who is highly organized, has experience in the field, and has excellent communication skills. The successful candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, as well as experience in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting network equipment. In addition, the ideal candidate should have experience with LAN/WAN technologies, routing protocols, and firewalls. The ability to think critically and multitask in a fast-paced environment is essential. Responsibilities:

Monitor and maintain the performance of the Nelnet network
Configure and troubleshoot network equipment
Install and configure LAN/WAN technologies and routing protocols
Implement and maintain firewalls
Provide guidance and assistance to the IT team
Analyze and troubleshoot network issues
Create and maintain network documentation
Develop and maintain policies and procedures
Research and evaluate new network technologies
Assist in the development of network security strategies and plans
