  1. Perform diagnostic abdominal and OB-GYN ultrasound imaging studies using advanced imaging equipment.
  2. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine appropriate scanning techniques and positions for accurate diagnosis.
  3. Prepare patients for procedures and provide clear instructions and explanations to ensure their comfort and understanding.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all procedures and patient information in accordance with established protocols.
  5. Adhere to safety and infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
  6. Troubleshoot equipment issues and report any malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  7. Continuously monitor patient condition and make adjustments to the imaging process as needed.
  8. Educate patients about the procedures and answer any questions they may have.
  9. Keep up-to-date with advancements in technology and techniques in the field of sonography.
  10. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor towards patients and their families at all times.
  11. Work collaboratively with other sonographers and healthcare team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of procedures.
  12. Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives to maintain high standards of care.
  13. Adhere to all ethical and legal guidelines in the performance of duties.
  14. Attend training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  15. Act as a positive representative of Northwell Health and promote a positive image of the organization to patients and the community.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Diagnostic Medical Sonography Or A Related Field.

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Rdms) Certification In Abdomen And/Or Ob-Gyn Specialties.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Sonographer In A Clinical Or Hospital Setting.

  • Proficiency In Performing A Wide Range Of Abdominal And Ob-Gyn Ultrasound Procedures, Including Fetal Anatomy Scans And Gynecological Exams.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Anatomy, As Well As The Ability To Accurately Interpret And Document Ultrasound Images And Findings.
