- Perform hemodialysis treatments on patients with chronic kidney disease, following established protocols and procedures.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and progress during treatments.
- Administer medications and monitor fluid levels during treatments.
- Ensure proper functioning of hemodialysis equipment and make adjustments as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and medical staff to provide education and support.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and charts.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Assist in the training and orientation of new hemodialysis technicians.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain knowledge of current best practices in hemodialysis treatment.

Certification And Licensure: A Hemodialysis Technician At Northwell Health Must Hold A Current Certification As A Hemodialysis Technician From A Recognized Institution, As Well As A Valid State License To Practice.
Experience: Candidates For This Position Should Have At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience Working In A Dialysis Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting. Experience With Various Types Of Dialysis Machines And Equipment Is Also Preferred.
Knowledge Of Dialysis Procedures: Applicants Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Hemodialysis Procedures, Including Preparing And Operating Dialysis Machines, Monitoring Patients During Treatment, And Documenting Patient Progress.
Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For A Hemodialysis Technician At Northwell Health. They Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Other Members Of The Healthcare Team.
