Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Imaging Assistant to join our Northwell Health team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support in the imaging department, including assisting with patient imaging, equipment operation, and other related tasks. We are seeking an individual who is organized, highly motivated, and capable of working independently and with a team.The ideal candidate will have an associate degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field and at least one year of experience working in a medical imaging environment. They will also possess a thorough understanding of imaging principles, anatomy and pathology. Additionally, the successful candidate should be able to work with a wide variety of people in a professional and courteous manner, have excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to take initiative and think quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with patient imaging procedures and equipment operation, including setting up and breaking down the equipment, patient positioning, and patient preparation.
  2. Ensure that all imaging equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
  3. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  4. Provide technical support to other staff members in the imaging department.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
  6. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and ensure that patient information is kept confidential.
  7. Monitor and maintain patient records and images.
  8. Maintain accurate and detailed records of imaging procedures.
  9. Assist with training new staff members.
  10. Respond to patient inquiries and provide patient education as needed.
