  1. Accurately and efficiently transcribe medical reports and documents to support healthcare providers.
  2. Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in transcriptions.
  3. Utilize strong typing skills to transcribe medical reports in a timely manner.
  4. Communicate effectively with healthcare providers to clarify any unclear or missing information in transcriptions.
  5. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of medical terminology to ensure accurate transcriptions.
  6. Prioritize and manage workload to meet deadlines and ensure timely delivery of transcriptions.
  7. Adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations when handling sensitive medical information.
  8. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure seamless and accurate patient care.
  9. Continuously update knowledge of medical terminology and procedures to ensure accurate transcriptions.
  10. Maintain a high level of professionalism and work ethic in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  11. Take initiative to identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies in transcriptions.
  12. Proactively seek feedback to improve transcription accuracy and efficiency.
  13. Complete all assigned tasks and responsibilities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Job Qualifications
  • Proficiency In Medical Terminology: A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology Is Essential For Accurately Transcribing Medical Reports And Documents.

  • Knowledge Of Electronic Health Records (Ehr): Northwell Health Utilizes Ehr Systems, So Proficiency In Navigating And Updating Electronic Health Records Is Necessary For This Role.

  • Typing Speed And Accuracy: As A Medical Transcriptionist, You Will Be Required To Type Quickly And Accurately While Maintaining High Levels Of Attention To Detail.

  • Prior Experience In Medical Transcription: Previous Experience In Medical Transcription, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting, Is Highly Preferred For This Role.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Crucial In This Role, As You Will Be Working Closely With Healthcare Professionals And Must Be Able To Clarify Any Discrepancies Or Errors In Transcribed Documents.
