1. Provide compassionate and high-quality care to postpartum mothers and their newborns during the critical postpartum period.
2. Assess the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of postpartum patients and provide appropriate nursing care.
3. Monitor and document vital signs, progress, and any changes in condition.
4. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
5. Educate new mothers on postpartum care, including breastfeeding, infant care, and self-care.
6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
7. Provide emotional support and guidance to new mothers and their families.
8. Assist with postpartum procedures, such as episiotomies and c-section wound care.
9. Respond to emergencies and provide immediate care and interventions.
10. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
11. Follow all hospital policies, protocols, and procedures to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
12. Continuously update and enhance knowledge and skills through educational opportunities and professional development.
13. Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and their families.
14. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices.
15. Act as an advocate for patients and their families, promoting their rights and ensuring their needs are met.
16. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive, holistic care to patients.
17. Serve as a resource for patients, families, and colleagues regarding postpartum care and women's health issues.
18. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of patient care.
19. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
