Recreational Therapist

Our Recreational Therapists provide therapeutic recreation activities, designed to improve and maintain the health and well-being of our patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of compassion for their patients and be committed to providing quality care. The desired skills and qualifications for this position are: a Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy or a related field; experience in a healthcare setting; knowledge of the principles and practices of recreational therapy; excellent communication skills, both oral and written; and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and implement individual and group recreational therapy activities designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of patients.
2. Monitor and assess the progress of patients during recreational therapy activities.
3. Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, staff and other healthcare providers.
4. Educate patients and their families on the principles and practices of recreational therapy.
5. Maintain and update patient records and documentation.
6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide optimal care to patients.
7. Participate in patient care conferences.
8. Implement safety protocols to ensure safe and appropriate recreational therapy activities.
9. Demonstrate empathy and compassion for patients and their families.
10. Adhere to all legal and professional standards of recreational therapy.
