Additionally, you should possess excellent communication and critical thinking skills, as well as a strong commitment to providing compassionate and evidence-based care.   1. Provide expert and compassionate care to newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Nursery setting.
  2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
  3. Monitor and assess newborns for any changes in their condition and respond promptly to any emergencies.
  4. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  5. Educate and support parents and family members on the care and needs of their newborn.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
  7. Adhere to strict infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
  8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and promote positive patient outcomes.
  9. Utilize critical thinking skills to prioritize and manage a high volume of patient needs.
  10. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in neonatal care.
  11. Serve as a patient advocate and ensure that all patients receive the highest level of care and attention.
  12. Uphold the values and mission of Northwell Health through exceptional patient care and professionalism.
  13. Maintain a positive and supportive attitude towards patients, families, and colleagues.
  14. Adhere to all state and federal regulations and guidelines related to the practice of nursing.
  15. Act as a resource and mentor to new nurses and students in the NICU/Nursery setting.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) From An Accredited Institution.

  • Current Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of New York.

  • Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nicu) Or Nursery Setting.

  • Bls And Nrp Certifications.

  • Excellent Communication And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Work Efficiently In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment.
