
Registered Nurse-Ophthalmology

- Provide specialized nursing care to patients with eye-related conditions in the Ophthalmology department.
- Assess and monitor patients' conditions, including vital signs and eye health.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Educate patients and their families about ophthalmic procedures, treatments, and medications.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
- Perform diagnostic tests and procedures, such as eye exams and visual acuity tests.
- Assist with surgical procedures, including pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Monitor and maintain medical equipment and supplies in the Ophthalmology department.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families throughout their treatment.
- Follow all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Stay current on advancements and developments in the field of ophthalmology to provide the best possible care to patients.
- Participate in professional development activities and trainings to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Act as a patient advocate and communicate any concerns or changes in condition to the healthcare team.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulations.
Valid Rn License: The Candidate Must Possess A Valid Registered Nurse License In The State Of New York.
Ophthalmology Experience: Candidates Must Have Previous Experience Working In An Ophthalmology Setting, Including Knowledge Of Various Eye Conditions And Procedures.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Is Preferred, Although An Associate's Degree In Nursing (Adn) May Be Considered.
Bls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification Is Required For All Registered Nurses At Northwell Health.
Excellent Communication And Organizational Skills: The Candidate Should Have Strong Communication Skills To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Organizational Skills Are Also Important In Managing Patient Care And Maintaining Accurate Records.
