  1. Develop and implement strategies to optimize revenue and enhance financial performance across the healthcare system.
  2. Lead and manage a team of revenue cycle professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  3. Oversee all aspects of the revenue cycle, including coding, billing, collections, and denials management.
  4. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement action plans to drive results.
  5. Stay up-to-date on healthcare reimbursement and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and minimize risks.
  6. Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, operations, and clinical teams, to identify opportunities for revenue cycle improvement and streamline processes.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, such as insurance companies and government agencies, to negotiate favorable contracts and resolve billing issues.
  8. Prepare and present reports on revenue cycle performance to senior leadership, highlighting key trends and recommendations for improvement.
  9. Provide training and education on revenue cycle best practices to staff and stakeholders.
  10. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development among team members.
  11. Develop and manage departmental budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring efficient resource utilization.
  12. Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for revenue cycle-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  13. Continuously evaluate and improve revenue cycle processes and systems to increase efficiency, accuracy, and overall performance.
  14. Implement and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards.
  15. Act as a liaison between revenue cycle and other departments, addressing concerns and promoting effective communication and collaboration.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Revenue Cycle Management: The Senior Director Should Have At Least 10 Years Of Experience In Revenue Cycle Management, With A Deep Understanding Of Billing, Coding, And Reimbursement Processes. They Should Also Have Experience In Managing A Large Team And Overseeing Multiple Revenue Streams.

  • Strong Leadership And Communication Skills: As A Senior Leader At Northwell Health, The Senior Director Should Have Exceptional Leadership Skills And Be Able To Effectively Communicate With A Diverse Group Of Stakeholders, Including Physicians, Executives, And Staff. They Should Also Have A Track Record Of Successfully Managing And Developing A High-Performing Team.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Healthcare Regulations And Compliance: The Senior Director Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Healthcare Regulations, Such As Hipaa, Medicare, And Medicaid, And Be Able To Ensure Compliance Within The Revenue Cycle Department. They Should Also Have Experience In Implementing And Maintaining Effective Internal Controls And Audit Processes.

  • Strategic Thinking And Problem-Solving Abilities: This Role Requires The Senior Director To Be A Strategic Thinker With The Ability To Identify Potential Issues And Develop Solutions To Improve Revenue Cycle Performance. They Should Also Have Experience In Developing And Implementing Revenue Cycle Improvement Initiatives.

  • Familiarity With Revenue Cycle Technology And Systems: The Senior Director Should Have Experience With Revenue Cycle Technology And Systems, Such As Electronic Health Record (Ehr) Systems, Billing Software, And Data Analytics Tools. They Should Be Able To Leverage Technology To Streamline Processes And Achieve Revenue Cycle Goals.
