  1. Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients to determine their specific communication and swallowing needs.
  2. Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluations and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  3. Administer a variety of speech and language therapy techniques to improve patients' speech, language, and swallowing abilities.
  4. Monitor and document patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  5. Educate patients and their families on strategies to improve communication and swallowing skills.
  6. Collaborate with caregivers, families, and other healthcare professionals to provide a holistic approach to patient care.
  7. Stay up-to-date with current research and techniques in the field of speech-language pathology.
  8. Maintain accurate and organized records of patient information and progress.
  9. Follow ethical and legal standards in all patient interactions and maintain patient confidentiality.
  10. Act as an advocate for patients and their families to ensure their needs are being met.
  11. Participate in team meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary care planning.
  12. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality of care is provided to patients.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology: Candidates For A Speech-Language Pathologist Job At Northwell Health Must Possess A Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology From An Accredited Program.

  • Certificate Of Clinical Competence (Ccc-Slp): Northwell Health Requires Candidates To Have A Certificate Of Clinical Competence From The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (Asha) To Ensure They Have Met The Highest Standards Of Clinical Competence.

  • State Licensure: Candidates Must Be Licensed To Practice Speech-Language Pathology In The State Of New York.

  • Clinical Experience: Northwell Health Prefers Candidates With At Least 2 Years Of Clinical Experience In Speech-Language Pathology, Preferably In A Hospital Or Medical Setting.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Speech-Language Pathologist, One Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Work With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Northwell Health Values Candidates Who Possess These Skills.
