  1. Dispensing Medications: The Acute Care Pharmacy Technician II-Certified will be responsible for accurately and efficiently dispensing medications to patients in an acute care setting.
  2. Patient Care: The main responsibility of this role is to provide exceptional care to patients by accurately filling and delivering prescription medications and providing medication counseling when necessary.
  3. Medication Management: The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date medication profiles for patients, including dosages, allergies, and any potential interactions.
  4. Inventory Management: This role will involve monitoring medication inventory levels, restocking medications, and ensuring that all medications are within their expiration dates.
  5. Compliance: The Pharmacy Technician II-Certified will be responsible for adhering to all state and federal laws and regulations, as well as following all established policies and procedures within the pharmacy.
  6. Collaborate with Healthcare Team: This role will require working closely with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and effective delivery of medication therapy to patients.
  7. Record Keeping: The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for accurately documenting all medication-related activities in the patient's medical record, including any interventions or recommendations.
  8. Quality Control: This role will involve performing routine quality control checks on medications and equipment to ensure accuracy and safety.
  9. Professional Development: The Pharmacy Technician II-Certified will be expected to stay current on all pharmacy practices, regulations, and advancements in technology through ongoing education and training.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification As A Pharmacy Technician Ii: The Candidate Must Possess A Valid Certification As A Pharmacy Technician Ii From An Accredited Organization, Such As The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb).

  • Experience In Acute Care Setting: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working As A Pharmacy Technician In An Acute Care Setting, With A Strong Understanding Of Medication Dispensing And Inventory Management Processes.

  • Knowledge Of Pharmacy Operations: The Candidate Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Pharmacy Operations, Including Drug Distribution Systems, Compounding, And Sterile Product Preparation. They Should Also Have A Good Understanding Of State And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Pharmacy Practice.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: The Candidate Should Have Excellent Communication Skills And The Ability To Work Effectively In A Team-Based Environment. They Should Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Pharmacists, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Attention To Detail And Accuracy: The Candidate Must Have A High Level Of Attention To Detail And Accuracy In Their Work, As They Will Be Responsible For Preparing And Dispensing Medications For Patients. They Should Also Be Able To Work Efficiently Under Pressure And Prioritize Tasks To Meet Deadlines.
