  1. Conduct comprehensive medication reviews for patients with mental health disorders to ensure safe and effective medication management.
  2. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients with behavioral health conditions.
  3. Serve as a drug information resource for healthcare staff and patients, providing education and guidance on the appropriate use of psychotropic medications.
  4. Monitor patient medication adherence, efficacy, and adverse effects and make recommendations for adjustments as needed.
  5. Develop and maintain specialized knowledge in the latest advancements and best practices in behavioral health pharmacy.
  6. Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings to discuss patient progress and make recommendations for medication changes or adjustments.
  7. Document all clinical interventions and patient interactions in a timely and accurate manner.
  8. Provide counseling and education to patients and their families on medication use, potential side effects, and other relevant information.
  9. Collaborate with insurance companies to ensure appropriate coverage and reimbursement for prescribed medications.
  10. Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and standards related to pharmacy practice and patient privacy.
  11. Identify and report any medication errors or adverse reactions to the appropriate parties.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to behavioral health pharmacy services.
  13. Serve as a mentor and resource for pharmacy students and residents.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while representing the organization and promoting its mission and values.
  15. Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and growth to enhance job performance and contribute to the success of the organization.

Job Qualifications
  • Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharmd) Degree From An Accredited Pharmacy Program.

  • Board Certification In Psychiatric Pharmacy (Bcpp) Or Completion Of A Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency Program.

  • Experience Working In A Behavioral Health Setting, Preferably In An Inpatient Or Outpatient Psychiatric Facility.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Medications Commonly Used In The Treatment Of Mental Health Disorders, Including Psychotropic Medications And Substance Abuse Treatments.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Collaborate With Interdisciplinary Teams And Effectively Counsel And Educate Patients On Their Medication Therapy.
