
Coding Audit Response Specialist - Ambulatory
Novant Health is currently seeking an experienced Coding Audit Response Specialist - Ambulatory to join our team. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills who is capable of providing accurate coding audit responses in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of medical coding and documentation standards, as well as a passion for providing quality patient care.To be successful in this role, the Coding Audit Response Specialist - Ambulatory must possess a minimum of three years of experience in coding, auditing, and/or clinical documentation improvement in ambulatory care settings. Additional qualifications include AHIMA or AAPC coding certification, an in-depth understanding of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding guidelines, and proficiency in MS Office and electronic health record systems. Responsibilities of the Coding Audit Response Specialist - Ambulatory:
• Analyze coding and documentation standards to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Review medical records for accuracy and completeness of coding, based on established guidelines. • Identify discrepancies in coding and/or documentation and provide appropriate feedback to healthcare staff. • Maintain current knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding guidelines. • Respond to coding audit requests in a timely and accurate manner. • Assist department managers and staff in understanding and applying coding and documentation guidelines. • Participate in coding and documentation training sessions as needed. • Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure coding accuracy. • Assist in the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures. • Utilize MS Office and electronic health record systems to enter and update coding information. • Communicate effectively with other departments and staff.
