  1. Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons to diagnose and treat patients with orthopedic conditions.
  2. Conduct thorough patient evaluations and assist with creating treatment plans.
  3. Perform orthopedic procedures, such as casting, splinting, and joint injections, under the supervision of a physician.
  4. Provide patient education and counseling on proper self-care techniques and post-operative care.
  5. Review and interpret diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and MRIs.
  6. Communicate with patients and their families to explain treatment options and answer any questions or concerns.
  7. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  8. Document patient care and maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
  9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physical therapists and nurses, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  10. Adhere to all legal and ethical standards, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
  11. Stay current on advancements and developments in the field of orthopedics and incorporate new techniques and technologies into patient care.
  12. Provide support and guidance to other healthcare team members, such as medical assistants and nurses.
  13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards patients, colleagues, and all members of the healthcare team.
  15. Continuously strive to provide exceptional patient care and contribute to the overall mission and goals of Novant Health.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Physician Assistant In An Orthopedic Setting

  • Current Certification From The National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (Nccpa)

  • Experience With Procedures Such As Joint Injections, Casting, And Splinting

  • Proficiency In Interpreting Diagnostic Imaging, Such As X-Rays And Mris

  • Strong Knowledge Of Orthopedic Conditions And Treatments, Including Surgical And Non-Surgical Options
