Job Description

  12. Participate in ongoing training and supervision to enhance skills and knowledge.
  13. Serve as a role model and advocate for individuals with mental health challenges.
  14. Follow all organizational policies and procedures.
  15. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and progress.
  16. Stay updated on community resources and refer clients to appropriate services.
  17. Attend team meetings and participate in case consultations.
  18. Support and promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
  19. Act as a liaison between clients and other mental health professionals.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Ged: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Peer Support Specialist At Novant Health Is A High School Diploma Or Ged. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge To Perform The Job Duties Effectively.

  • Certified Peer Support Specialist (Cpss): Novant Health Requires All Peer Support Specialists To Have A Valid Cpss Certification.   • Experience In Peer Support: Having Previous Experience In A Peer Support Role, Either Paid Or Volunteer, Is Highly Valued At Novant Health. This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Understanding Of The Role And Their Ability To Provide Effective Support To Others.

  • Strong Communication Skills: As A Peer Support Specialist, Effective Communication Is Crucial In Building Relationships With Individuals And Providing Support. Novant Health Looks For Candidates Who Possess Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Effectively Communicate With Peers, Clients, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
