- Perform blood draws and collect other specimens from patients in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure that all samples are properly labeled and documented for accurate processing and analysis.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to comply with health and safety standards.
- Use proper infection control techniques to prevent the spread of disease and maintain a sterile environment.
- Verify patient identities and explain procedures to them in a clear and professional manner.
- Handle and transport specimens according to established protocols to ensure their integrity and quality.
- Follow established protocols and procedures to accurately and efficiently process specimens.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all samples and tests performed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to provide exceptional patient care.
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in phlebotomy.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Handle difficult or sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Communicate any issues or concerns to supervisors in a timely and effective manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
- Attend required training and continuing education programs to maintain phlebotomy certification.
- Comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and quality control standards.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing the organization.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide suggestions for process improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Certified Phlebotomy Technician (Cpt) Credential From A Recognized Organization Such As The National Healthcareer Association (Nha) Or The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).
Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomist In A Clinical Setting.
Knowledge Of Various Blood Collection Techniques And Equipment, Including Needles, Tubes, And Vacutainers.
Familiarity With Standard Safety Protocols And Procedures For Handling And Disposing Of Blood Samples.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Interact With Patients And Medical Staff In A Professional And Compassionate Manner.
