Registered Nurse, RN- Behavioral Health

- Provide compassionate and high-quality care to patients with mental health and substance abuse disorders.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Educate patients and their families on mental health and substance abuse disorders, treatment plans, and preventative measures.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Serve as an advocate for patients and ensure their needs are met.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in behavioral health.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Comply with all hospital policies and procedures.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and patient care conferences.
- Continuously strive to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Required For The Rn-Behavioral Health Position At Novant Health. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In Nursing Knowledge And Skills.
Current Rn Licensure: Candidates Must Hold A Current And Unrestricted Rn Licensure In The State Where They Will Be Practicing. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The Necessary Requirements To Practice As A Registered Nurse.
Experience In Behavioral Health: Previous Experience In A Behavioral Health Setting Is Preferred For This Position. This Includes Experience In Assessing And Managing Patients With Mental Health Conditions And Providing Therapeutic Interventions.
Bls And Crisis Prevention Certification: Candidates Must Have Current Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification And Crisis Prevention Institute (Cpi) Certification. These Certifications Demonstrate The Candidate's Knowledge And Skills In Basic Life Support And De-Escalation Techniques.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Rn In The Behavioral Health Setting, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential. The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Their Families, And The Interdisciplinary Team Is Crucial For Providing Quality Care And Promoting Positive Outcomes.
