- Develop and implement a comprehensive information security strategy for Novant Health, aligned with the organization's mission and goals
- Ensure the protection of sensitive data and information assets by implementing and maintaining appropriate security controls and procedures
- Lead a team of information security experts, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure the team's success in their roles
- Stay up-to-date on the latest security threats and trends, and proactively identify and address potential risks to the organization's information systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that security measures are integrated into all aspects of the organization's operations and processes
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation plans
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including executives, employees, and patients, to promote a culture of security awareness and accountability
- Monitor and report on the organization's security posture and incidents, providing timely updates and recommendations to senior leadership
- Continuously evaluate and improve the organization's security policies, procedures, and technologies to adapt to evolving threats and business needs.
Extensive Experience In Information Security: A Candidate For The Vice President Chief Information Security Officer (Ciso) Position At Novant Health Should Have A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In The Field Of Information Security, With A Proven Track Record Of Leading Successful Security Programs.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills: The Ciso Will Be Responsible For Overseeing A Team Of Security Professionals And Communicating With Key Stakeholders, Including Executive Leadership And Board Members. Therefore, The Ideal Candidate Should Possess Strong Leadership And Communication Skills.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Healthcare Regulations: As A Healthcare Organization, Novant Health Must Comply With Various Regulations, Such As Hipaa And Hitech. The Ciso Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of These Regulations And Experience Implementing Security Controls To Ensure Compliance.
Strategic Thinking And Risk Management Expertise: The Ciso Will Play A Critical Role In Setting The Organization's Information Security Strategy And Managing Security Risks. The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strategic Mindset And Be Able To Identify And Prioritize Potential Risks To The Organization.
Relevant Certifications: To Be Considered For The Ciso Role At Novant Health, Candidates Should Hold Relevant Certifications, Such As Certified Information Security Manager (Cism) Or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (Cissp). These Certifications Demonstrate A Strong Understanding Of Information Security Principles And Best Practices.
