
Career Counselor
Provide equity-minded solutions that support student success services. Provide support to meet the Student Equity and Achievement Program (SEAP) objectives. Assist students in career exploration, decision-making, and goal setting strategies utilizing career resources to address career uncertainty. Provide individual and group career counseling services to students. Assist students in addressing a variety of personal challenges which may be interfering with their personal, educational and/or career goals. Develop career services and career counseling approaches for changing student populations including students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds, non-traditional students, and re-entry students. Develop programs and services designed to equip students and alumni with necessary job search skills and employment preparation strategies.
Experience in using student-centered and innovative pedagogies to teach and motivate students at all levels of college-readiness
Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and/or Strong’s Interest Inventory (SII) Certification
Familiarity with community college career counseling
Experience and proficiency in current teaching and learning technologies
