- Conduct research and development activities to support the creation of new and innovative food products.
- Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize food processing technologies for PepsiCo’s global brands.
- Utilize expertise in food engineering to identify and implement process improvements that drive efficiency, quality, and cost savings.
- Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve processes and products.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other external partners to support R&D initiatives.
- Utilize project management skills to plan, execute and report on R&D projects.
- Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and PepsiCo’s quality standards.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional team members.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of long-term R&D strategies and goals.
- Communicate project updates and progress to senior management and other key stakeholders.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives and support other departments as needed.
- Proactively identify and address potential risks and issues related to food processing and make recommendations for mitigation.
- Collaborate with marketing and consumer insights teams to understand consumer preferences and incorporate them into product development.
- Represent PepsiCo at industry events and conferences to share knowledge and stay informed on industry developments.
Extensive Experience In Food Process Engineering: A R&D Principal Engineer At Pepsico Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Food Processing Techniques And Technologies, As Well As Experience In Developing And Optimizing Food Products.
Strong Leadership And Project Management Skills: This Role Requires The Ability To Lead A Team Of Engineers And Scientists, Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously, And Deliver Results Within Tight Timelines.
Knowledge Of Food Safety And Regulatory Requirements: A R&D Principal Engineer Should Be Up-To-Date With Food Safety Regulations And Have A Strong Understanding Of Food Microbiology, Allergen Management, And Other Related Topics.
Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: As A Key Member Of The R&D Team, This Individual Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate Complex Technical Information To Cross-Functional Teams And Collaborate With Colleagues At All Levels.
Advanced Degree In Food Engineering Or Related Field: A Master's Or Ph.d. In Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For This Role, As Well As A Strong Academic Record In Relevant Coursework.
