- Provide injury prevention education and training to athletes and coaches.
- Conduct on-site evaluations of athletic injuries and develop treatment plans.
- Administer first aid and emergency care to injured athletes.
- Utilize therapeutic modalities and exercise techniques to aid in the rehabilitation of injured athletes.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for athletes.
- Document all treatments and progress of injured athletes.
- Communicate with coaches, parents, and athletes regarding injury status and return-to-play protocols.
- Maintain and order necessary supplies and equipment for the athletic training program.
- Stay current with advancements and changes in the field of athletic training.
- Attend team practices and games to provide on-site medical support.
- Work with athletes to develop injury prevention strategies and proper conditioning techniques.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and reports for all athletic injuries.
- Serve as a resource for coaches and athletes on injury prevention and management.
- Participate in athletic department meetings and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to enhance the overall well-being of athletes.

Bachelor's Degree In Athletic Training Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Athletic Training Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For An Athletic Trainer Position At Piedmont Healthcare. This Degree Provides The Necessary Foundation For Understanding Human Anatomy, Injury Prevention, And Rehabilitation Techniques.
Certification Through The National Athletic Trainers' Association (Nata): Candidates Must Hold Current Certification As An Athletic Trainer Through The Nata. This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Knowledge And Competency In The Field Of Athletic Training.
State Licensure: In Addition To Certification Through The Nata, Athletic Trainers At Piedmont Healthcare Must Also Hold A Current State License. This Ensures That They Are Meeting All State Requirements And Practicing Within The Legal Scope Of Their Profession.
Experience Working With Athletes: Previous Experience Working With Athletes, Either At The High School, Collegiate, Or Professional Level, Is Highly Valued At Piedmont Healthcare. This Experience Shows An Understanding Of The Unique Needs And Demands Of Athletes And The Ability To Provide Effective Care.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Athletic Trainers At Piedmont Healthcare Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills In Order To Work Effectively With Athletes, Coaches, And Other Healthcare Professionals. They Must Be Able To Clearly Explain Injuries And Treatment Plans And Collaborate With Others To Provide The Best Possible Care For Athletes.
