
Monitor Technician, Cardiac Telemetry

- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms of patients in the Cardiac Telemetry unit.
- Ensure timely and accurate detection of any abnormalities in cardiac rhythms.
- Operate and troubleshoot cardiac monitoring equipment.
- Document and report any changes or abnormalities in cardiac rhythms to the appropriate medical personnel.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient's cardiac rhythms.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure proper and timely interventions for patients with abnormal cardiac rhythms.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures related to cardiac monitoring and patient safety.
- Follow HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve skills in cardiac monitoring.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff regarding cardiac monitoring.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with other tasks and duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Certification: A Monitor Technician At Piedmont Healthcare Must Possess A Current Certification In Cardiac Telemetry Or Electrocardiography (Ecg) Monitoring. This Ensures That The Individual Has A Thorough Understanding Of The Equipment And Techniques Used In Monitoring Cardiac Patients.
Experience: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Healthcare Setting Is Required For A Monitor Technician At Piedmont Healthcare. This Experience Should Include Working With Cardiac Patients And Familiarity With Telemetry Equipment.
Knowledge Of Cardiac Rhythms: A Strong Understanding Of Cardiac Rhythms And The Ability To Identify Abnormal Rhythms Is Crucial For A Monitor Technician. This Knowledge Is Necessary For Recognizing And Promptly Reporting Any Changes In A Patient's Condition.
Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills Are Essential For A Monitor Technician, As They Will Be Responsible For Accurately Documenting And Reporting Any Changes In A Patient's Cardiac Rhythm To Healthcare Providers. They Must Also Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients And Their Families.
