  1. Monitor and record cardiac rhythms: The primary responsibility of the Monitor Technician is to closely monitor and record cardiac rhythms of patients in the Cardiac Telemetry unit. This includes accurately identifying and reporting any abnormalities or changes in the patient's cardiac rhythm.
  2. Assist with procedures: The Monitor Technician will assist the medical team with various procedures such as placing and removing telemetry leads, obtaining EKGs, and setting up equipment for cardioversions. They must also ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and report any malfunctions.
  3. Communicate important information: The Monitor Technician will be responsible for communicating important information to the medical team, including changes in cardiac rhythms, patient status, and any issues or concerns that may arise. They must also effectively communicate with patients and their families about procedures and test results.
  4. Maintain patient care standards: The Monitor Technician must ensure that all patient care standards are met and maintained. This includes following protocols for infection control, accurately documenting patient information, and providing compassionate care to patients and their families.
  5. Understand cardiac rhythms and telemetry equipment: A strong understanding of cardiac rhythms and telemetry equipment is crucial for this role. The Monitor Technician must be able to identify and interpret cardiac rhythms accurately, troubleshoot equipment issues, and perform basic maintenance and cleaning of equipment.

Collaborate with the medical team: The Monitor Technician will work closely with the medical team, including nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals, to provide quality care to patients.   7. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures: The Monitor Technician must adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including those related to patient care, privacy, and safety. They must also comply with all legal and ethical standards.
