Job Description

At Piedmont Healthcare, we are dedicated to providing compassionate and high-quality care to our patients. We are looking for a Patient Care Tech to join our Emergency Department team on a PRN basis. This individual will play a crucial role in assisting our nursing staff and physicians in providing efficient and effective care to our patients.   1. Assist nursing staff and physicians in providing patient care in the Emergency Department.
  2. Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff.
  3. Provide basic patient care, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  4. Help patients with mobility and transportation needs.
  5. Collect and record patient information, such as medical history and current symptoms.
  6. Assist with medical procedures, such as taking blood samples or administering medications.
  7. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing them with compassionate and respectful care.
  9. Follow all hospital policies and procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient safety and confidentiality.
  10. Continuously update and maintain knowledge of emergency care procedures and protocols.
  11. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care for patients.
  12. Adhere to all infection control measures to prevent the spread of illness.
  13. Assist in the triage process, prioritizing patients based on severity of condition.
  14. Respond to emergency situations and provide immediate assistance as needed.
  15. Participate in ongoing training and education to enhance skills and knowledge in patient care.
  16. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care and observations.
  17. Demonstrate a strong commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality care to all patients.
  18. Flexibility to work various shifts and schedules as needed.
  19. Adhere to all safety and health standards set by the hospital.
  20. Serve as a positive and professional representative of Piedmont Healthcare to patients, families, and visitors.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Patient Care Tech In The Emergency Department At Piedmont Healthcare Must Have A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: A Valid Cna Certification Is Usually Required For A Patient Care Tech Position At Piedmont Healthcare.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: As A Patient Care Tech In The Emergency Department, Having A Current Bls Certification Is Necessary To Provide Basic Emergency Care.

  • Minimum Of 6 Months Of Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Prior Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In The Emergency Department, Is Preferred For This Position.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Patient Care Tech, The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Crucial. Candidates Should Also Possess Strong Interpersonal Skills To Provide Compassionate And Empathetic Care.
