- Safely transport patients to and from various locations within the healthcare facility.
- Ensure timely and efficient transport of patients, taking into consideration their individual needs and schedules.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare staff to ensure a positive experience and address any concerns or questions.
- Maintain a clean and organized transport vehicle at all times.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of patients and staff during transport.
- Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs for the transport vehicle.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to coordinate patient transport needs and prioritize tasks.
- Keep accurate records of patient transport activities and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, ensuring they feel comfortable and supported during transport.
- Attend and participate in training and education programs to stay updated on best practices and safety guidelines for patient transport.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures and maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Remain flexible and adaptable to changing work environments and schedules.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Minimum High School Diploma Or Equivalent: To Be Considered For A Patient Transporter Position At Piedmont Healthcare, Candidates Must Possess A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That Candidates Have A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge To Perform The Duties Required For The Job.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: A Patient Transporter Must Possess Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Their Families, And Hospital Staff. This Includes The Ability To Listen Actively, Convey Information Clearly And Concisely, And Maintain A Professional And Compassionate Demeanor.
Physical Fitness And Stamina: This Role Requires Frequent Lifting, Pushing, And Pulling Of Heavy Equipment And Patients. Therefore, Candidates Must Be Physically Fit And Have The Stamina To Perform These Tasks Regularly. This Is Essential To Ensure The Safety Of Both The Patient And The Transporter.
Basic Medical Knowledge: While A Formal Medical Education Is Not Required, A Basic Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures Is Necessary For A Patient Transporter. This Includes Knowledge Of Basic Patient Care Techniques, Infection Control Protocols, And Safe Transfer And Positioning Methods.
Customer Service Experience: A Patient Transporter Is Often The First Point Of Contact For Patients, And Their Families, As They Are Transported Within The Hospital. Therefore, Candidates With Previous Customer Service Experience Are Preferred As They Are Able To Provide A Positive And Empathetic Experience To Patients During What Can Be A Stressful Time.
