- Conduct research and analysis on various materials, including metals, composites, and alloys, to determine their suitability for use in aerospace and defense systems.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to identify material requirements and specifications for new products.
- Develop and maintain a database of materials and their properties, including strength, durability, and corrosion resistance.
- Conduct testing and evaluation of materials to ensure they meet industry standards and performance requirements.
- Monitor and track material performance in existing products, identifying any potential issues and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Keep up-to-date with industry advancements and trends in materials science and incorporate new technologies into product development.
- Work closely with suppliers and vendors to source and procure materials that meet quality and cost requirements.
- Communicate regularly with cross-functional teams to provide updates on material selection and testing results.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards in the selection and use of materials.
- Provide technical support and expertise to other departments, including manufacturing, quality control, and product support, to resolve any material-related issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material selection and testing processes.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all materials used in product development.
- Train and mentor junior materials specialists and provide guidance on material selection and testing procedures.
- Represent the company at industry conferences and events to showcase our materials expertise and stay informed of the latest developments in the field.
Bachelor's Degree In Materials Science, Engineering, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Materials Management Or Supply Chain Management.
Strong Knowledge Of Materials Testing And Analysis Techniques.
Experience With Inventory Control And Management Systems.
Excellent Communication And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Cross-Functional Teams.
