- Provide compassionate care and support to a variety of animals in our care
- Assist in the daily operations of the animal care facility, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring animal health
- Handle and restrain animals in a safe and gentle manner
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian or supervisor
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment
- Monitor and report any changes in animal behavior or health to the appropriate personnel
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment for the animals and staff
- Assist with animal intake and adoption processes
- Educate the public on responsible pet ownership and animal welfare
- Collaborate with team members to ensure all animals receive the best possible care
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Experience In Animal Care: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have Previous Experience Working With Animals In A Professional Setting, Such As A Veterinary Clinic, Animal Shelter, Or Research Laboratory.
Knowledge Of Animal Behavior And Health: A Strong Understanding Of Animal Behavior And Health Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Be Able To Recognize Signs Of Distress Or Illness In Animals And Know How To Respond Appropriately.
Attention To Detail: As An Assistant - Animal Care, The Individual Will Be Responsible For Monitoring The Well-Being Of The Animals And Ensuring Their Living Environments Are Clean And Well-Maintained. Attention To Detail Is Crucial In Order To Spot Any Potential Issues And Address Them Promptly.
