At SAIC, we are looking for an enthusiastic and resourceful Procurement Specialist to lead the procurement process and support the organization in achieving its desired outcomes. This role requires a combination of strong analytical and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with suppliers to maximize value. A successful candidate will be highly organized and have the ability to take initiative in a fast-paced environment.The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Supply Chain Management, Business, or Accounting, and has at least 5 years of experience in a procurement role. Knowledge of government contracting and purchasing regulations is a plus. They should demonstrate excellent communication skills, be a self-starter, and have the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work. Above all, the successful candidate will have a strong commitment to customer service and a passion for developing relationships with suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the procurement process, including supplier selection, price negotiation, and procurement of goods and services.
- Develop and manage relationships with key suppliers.
- Analyze and evaluate supplier proposals, to ensure best value.
- Prepare and negotiate contracts with suppliers.
- Monitor and manage performance of suppliers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Track procurement and supplier performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with all purchasing regulations, including government regulations.
- Develop and implement best practices for supplier management.
- Provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage multiple tasks and prioritize work.
