- Provide advanced and comprehensive care to premature and critically ill newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
- Utilize critical thinking skills to assess and manage the complex medical needs of newborns.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans for newborns and their families.
- Perform physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe appropriate treatments for newborns.
- Provide education and support to families regarding their newborn's condition, treatment plans, and home care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure quality patient care and safety.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of care to newborns in the NICU.
- Stay current on advancements in neonatal care and incorporate evidence-based practices into daily practice.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment by communicating effectively with colleagues and sharing knowledge and expertise.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ethical and professional standards in all aspects of the job.
- Act as an advocate for newborns and their families, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed and met.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Attend and participate in departmental and hospital meetings, trainings, and educational opportunities to enhance professional development.
- Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols to protect the health and well-being of newborns, their families, and staff.
Master's Degree In Nursing With A Specialty In Neonatal Care
Current And Valid Nurse Practitioner License In The State Of Oklahoma
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Certification As A Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (Nnp) From A Nationally Recognized Organization
Excellent Communication And Critical Thinking Skills, As Well As The Ability To Work Effectively In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment
