Job Description

Salem Health is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Professional Fee Coder to join our team. We are seeking an individual who is familiar with the unique coding requirements of professional fee services and is able to work collaboratively with providers and other staff to ensure accurate coding. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, be highly organized, and have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities:

  1. Utilize specialized knowledge of professional fee coding requirements to ensure accurate coding of services.
  2. Collaborate with providers and other staff to ensure coding is performed correctly and in a timely manner.
  3. Utilize strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology to accurately code services.
  4. Ensure changes to codes and regulations are kept up-to-date.
  5. Utilize excellent problem-solving and communication skills to resolve coding issues.
  6. Maintain accurate, up-to-date coding records.
  7. Monitor coding activities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  8. Assist in training and educating staff on coding regulations and requirements.
  9. Develop and implement strategies to improve coding accuracy and efficiency.
  10. Ensure compliance with all relevant coding regulations.
