Job Description

Welcome to Shoe Carnival! We are currently seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our team as a Shipping/Receiving Clerk. As a Shipping/Receiving Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our store by managing the flow of merchandise in and out. We are looking for someone with a keen attention to detail and strong communication skills, who is able to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.   1. Manage incoming and outgoing shipments: Responsible for receiving, unpacking, and organizing all merchandise deliveries and ensuring accurate documentation and tracking of all shipments.
  2. Maintain inventory levels: Regularly monitor inventory levels and work with the Store Manager to ensure proper stock levels are maintained.
  3. Process returns and exchanges: Handle all customer returns and exchanges in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
  4. Communicate with vendors and carriers: Effectively communicate with vendors and carriers regarding shipment status, delays, and any other relevant information.
  5. Organize and maintain stockroom: Keep the stockroom clean, organized, and easily accessible, following safety protocols and company guidelines.
  6. Collaborate with team members: Work closely with the sales team to ensure merchandise is properly stocked and available for customers.
  7. Update inventory systems: Utilize inventory management systems to accurately and efficiently track all merchandise movements.
  8. Ensure accuracy of merchandise: Conduct regular audits to ensure all merchandise is accurately labeled and accounted for.
  9. Assist with store operations: Occasionally assist with store operations such as cashiering, customer service, and merchandising tasks, as needed.
  10. Adhere to company policies: Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and dress code standards.
  11. Provide exceptional customer service: Greet customers, answer questions, and assist with any inquiries or issues, always providing friendly and helpful service.
  12. Meet deadlines: Meet all deadlines for processing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring timely and accurate flow of merchandise.
  13. Train new team members: Provide training and support for new team members, ensuring they understand shipping and receiving procedures and expectations.
  14. Continuously improve processes: Identify areas for improvement in shipping and receiving processes and provide suggestions to management for streamlining operations.
  15. Maintain a positive attitude: Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to help and support team members, even during busy and challenging times.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education

  • Familiarity With Inventory Management Systems And Basic Computer Skills
