- Conduct regular field inspections to assess the health and condition of designated recreation areas within Pennsylvania's forests.
- Implement and monitor forest management plans and practices to maintain the health and vitality of the forests.
- Identify and address any potential hazards or issues in recreation areas, such as fallen trees, erosion, or invasive species.
- Collaborate with other team members, including forest rangers and park managers, to coordinate maintenance and improvement projects.
- Provide guidance and assistance to visitors in recreation areas, including information on trails, rules and regulations, and potential hazards.
- Maintain and repair recreational facilities, such as trails, campgrounds, and picnic areas, to ensure they are safe and well-maintained.
- Monitor and report on the use of recreation areas, including visitor numbers and any observed impacts on the environment.
- Educate the public on the importance of preserving and protecting natural resources while enjoying recreation activities.
- Identify and report any violations of park rules and regulations, and assist in enforcing them when necessary.
- Stay updated on current trends and techniques in forest management and recreation to continually improve and enhance the visitor experience.
Bachelor's Degree In Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Forest Management, Recreation Planning, Or Related Field.
Knowledge Of State And Federal Regulations Related To Forest Management And Recreation Activities.
Experience With Gis Mapping And Data Analysis.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills For Working With Diverse Stakeholders And The Public.
