- Review and analyze tax returns and financial records to ensure compliance with state tax laws and regulations.
- Conduct thorough and accurate examinations of tax returns to identify potential discrepancies or errors.
- Communicate with taxpayers and tax preparers to obtain necessary information and clarify any discrepancies.
- Utilize knowledge of tax laws and regulations to make informed decisions and recommendations for resolution of tax issues.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all tax examinations and related correspondence.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to gather relevant information and ensure consistent application of tax laws.
- Stay up-to-date on changes to tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate and compliant tax examinations.
- Provide excellent customer service to taxpayers, addressing any questions or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Identify and report potential cases of tax fraud or evasion to the appropriate authorities.
- Participate in training and development programs to continuously improve knowledge and skills related to tax examination and compliance.
Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or A Related Field
At Least 2 Years Of Experience In Tax Preparation Or Auditing
Strong Understanding Of State And Federal Tax Laws And Regulations
Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills
Proficiency In Microsoft Excel And Other Relevant Software Programs.
