  3. Conduct thorough risk assessments and make informed decisions regarding the level of supervision and support needed for each offender.
  4. Collaborate with other criminal justice agencies, such as courts and treatment providers, to coordinate services for offenders.
  5. Enforce court-ordered sanctions for non-compliance with probation or parole terms.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
  7. Provide guidance and support to offenders in areas such as employment, education, and treatment.
  8. Utilize evidence-based practices and interventions to promote positive behavior change in offenders.
  9. Conduct home visits and drug testing as necessary to ensure compliance with probation or parole conditions.
  10. Attend court hearings and provide testimony as needed.
  11. Facilitate group sessions and workshops for offenders to address issues such as substance abuse and anger management.
  12. Maintain a professional and respectful relationship with offenders while also enforcing rules and holding them accountable.
  13. Stay informed and up-to-date on relevant laws, policies, and procedures related to probation and parole.
  14. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance job skills and knowledge.
  15. Act as a positive representative of the State of Tennessee and the Probation/Parole Division in the community.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Communication And Conflict Resolution Skills.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience As A Probation/Parole Officer 1, Or Equivalent Experience In A Related Field.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Criminal Justice Systems, Laws, And Regulations.

  • Ability To Effectively Manage A Caseload Of Probation And Parole Clients And Maintain Accurate Records.
