Job Description

Are you passionate about wildlife conservation and have experience operating heavy equipment? If so, the State of Tennessee is looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Wildlife Equipment Operator Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of equipment operators and ensuring proper use and maintenance of all equipment used for wildlife management projects. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual with a strong background in operating and supervising heavy equipment, as well as a deep understanding of wildlife management techniques.   1. Oversee a team of equipment operators and ensure their adherence to wildlife management techniques and protocols.
  2. Operate and maintain heavy equipment to support wildlife management projects.
  3. Develop and implement equipment maintenance schedules and protocols.
  4. Train and mentor team members on proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
  5. Monitor equipment usage and track inventory to ensure proper allocation and availability.
  6. Collaborate with wildlife management team to identify equipment needs and prioritize projects.
  7. Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is functioning properly and identify any potential safety hazards.
  8. Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and repairs.
  9. Communicate with management and team members about any issues or concerns related to equipment.
  10. Stay up-to-date on industry developments and advancements in wildlife management and equipment operation.
  11. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating equipment.
  12. Lead by example and promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
  13. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving equipment operations and wildlife management projects.
  14. Represent the State of Tennessee with professionalism and dedication to wildlife conservation.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent

  • 3-5 Years Of Experience Operating And Maintaining Wildlife Equipment

  • Knowledge Of Wildlife Management Principles And Practices

  • Valid Driver's License And Ability To Obtain A Tennessee Commercial Driver's License

  • Supervisory Experience In A Related Field, Preferably In A Government Agency Or Wildlife Organization.
