  1. Provide genetic counseling and support to children and families to help them understand and navigate complex genetic conditions.
  2. Conduct thorough assessments of patients and their families to identify potential genetic risk factors and develop appropriate counseling plans.
  3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to coordinate care and ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  4. Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in genetics and genetic counseling techniques to provide the most current and effective care.
  5. Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, including genetic testing results and counseling sessions.
  6. Educate patients and families on the potential implications of genetic conditions and discuss available treatment options.
  7. Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families as they navigate the complexities of genetic conditions.
  8. Work closely with laboratory personnel to ensure accurate genetic testing and interpretation of results.
  9. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and develop treatment plans.
  10. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards governing genetic counseling.
  11. Participate in community outreach and education programs to raise awareness about genetics and genetic counseling.
  12. Foster a culture of compassion, empathy, and excellence in patient care within the Children's Outpatient Services team.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and respect patient privacy at all times.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and growth to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of genetics.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Genetic Counseling From An Accredited Program

  • Board Certification Or Eligibility Through The American Board Of Genetic Counseling

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience In Pediatric Genetic Counseling, Preferably In An Outpatient Setting

  • Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Genetic Testing And Counseling For A Wide Range Of Pediatric Conditions

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team And Provide Compassionate Support To Families And Children.
